I think Americans just have no idea what Cinco de Mayo is all about. I myself knew that it was marketed for raking in the $$. I also heard that 5 of mayo was celebrated because of some small battle. &lt;p&gt;I'm not Mexican, but Salvadoran, &amp;amp; always wondered what all the fuss was about. &amp;nbsp;I get it now, to some extent. &amp;nbsp;I still think it's mostly an anglo-american holiday, -excuse for them to go get wasted--- like St. Patricks Day, and all those other made up -holiday card holidays.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;They want to celebrate our holidays, and they want us to wash their dishes, &amp;amp; clean up for them in the bathrooms, but they can't be bothered to give us citizenship.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Nice. &amp;nbsp;Real classy.&lt;/p&gt;
