Don Omar likes bionic women in his latest video

El Don Omar, who was born William Omar Landrón, is a Latin Grammy Award-nominated Reggaetón singer/rapper, songwriter, composer, and actor.

His third studio album titled iDon has been recorded, and just came out in April.  The first single from this album titled "Virtual Diva" was performed for the first time on the MTV variety show “Entertainment as a Second Language with Carlos Santos.”

Now Don Omar is moving on with his new single, “Sexy Robotica” available to watch on YouTube.  This is the second single off his album “iDon” which shows a meshing of his mechanical world with electronic sounds and raggaeton beats.  Carlos Perez who directed the video, shows us Don’s erotic and sexy world with stunning, electronic beat-matching imagery. 

I checked out the Sexy Robotica video....and It starts out with a slow beat, then after 30 seconds it picks up speed.  The music sounds like it could be played in a bar or a dance club setting.  The rest of the song is at about normal rhythmic, techno beat. And, the video rocks in the "behind the scenes footage".

Juanes Says Hola Hillary

Last week in Washington DC Juanes, "A Dios Le Pido" singer met with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.  He made a trip to the politico town to rustle up some Clinton support for his second annual upcoming concert, "Paz Sin Fronteras"(Peace Without Borders) which will take place September 21st.

The concert is to promote world peace, focusing on the countries of Latin America.  Last year's concert was held on the border between Colombia and Venezuela.

In 2008, Juanes first concert series received support from hundreds of thousands of fans over the world. Participants in the event included Alejandro Sanz, Carlos Vives, and Ricardo Montaner.  And there's special meaning to September 21st.  The 21st is also --the U.N. International Day of Peace.

Juanes is one of the Colombia's best-selling musicians, having sold over ten million albums and won seventeen Latin Grammys.  Many call him the "Latin Bono".  Juanes rocks in Espanol (and also English...and all over the world).

Christina Aguilera Starring in Her First Movie Role

The Irish/Ecuadorian singer of will be doing nothing other than a movie musical.

We know Christina can definitely sing, she can definitely wear revealing clothing, she can definitely use blonde hair dye, she can definitely be "dirty" … but can she act?

We’ll find out in an upcoming movie, although I can probably already guess the answer. (Talvez...puede ser.)

Christina’s been cast as the lead role in Burlesque, a new movie musical about a small-town girl with a great voice and alot of energy who moves out to the big city of Los Angeles.  She then finds love, family and success in a Los Angeles burlesque club.

The head of Screen Gems, the studio producing the film says, “I couldn’t be more excited, as this was a project written with her in mind”. 

Someone wrote a film with Christina Aguilera in mind as the lead role?  
Who woulda thunk...

This will be worth watching.  At least the girl can sing...

Don Omar’s latest single “Virtual Diva” is currently at the number one spot!

Don's new album has topped the charts and is considered the most popular album on I-Tunes Latino. 

Who is Don Omar?  For those of you not familar with his music...he's a singer-song writer, as well as a composer, and CEO.  He hails from Puerto Rico.  His last album, “The Last Don” hit the charts and has done very well, selling over one million copies according to his website.  In 2003 he received the award for “Latin Pop Album of the Year” and “New Artist and Latin Hip-Hop Album of the Year” from Billboard Latin Music Awards.

He recently spoke about his new success, especially his popularity on the internet saying: “I want to give my fans the chance to see me as accessible as a click of a button.”

Luis Fonsi, Number 1 and 13 Nominations

Luis Fonsi has been all over the media this year and that will likely not come to an end anytime soon!  You all know of course Luis is a el famoso Puerto Rican singer, composer and soap opera actor.

So he's at number one again with his music video, "Aqui Estoy Yo".  Also, he has been nominated for 13 Premios Juventud p...that is amazing!  Congratulations Fonsi...keep up the muy bueno work!

Castroneves will use part of his prize money to pay his lawyers

The Brazilian race car driver Helio Castroneves has been in court for not filing taxes worth over $2.3 million.  But, he has a lucky star as he just recently won $3,048,005.  The money is from his third Indy 500 victory.  Castoneves knows he won't be able to keep most if not all of the money, because it will go to pay for his lawyers and back taxes. He added, "No question about it!"

La Shakis, Timbaland, and Wyclef Jean

 

They're at it again y'all....Wyclef and Shakira that is, and this time they are joined by the hit record producer, rapper, and singer Timbaland.  I love that guy.  Every single he touches turns to gold. 

La Shakis has a new single coming out called "The Border".

I googled it to try to find a cut of the as of yet unreleased album online...but all instances of it, have "been removed".

Ah yes, we're familar with that item...inspired by lawyers....and I digress.

I hear the new Shakis tune sounds like Nelly Furtado.

Patricia Manterola's Former Husband Gay?

Xavier Ortiz has been unfortunate victim of gay rumors.  He is a former member of the musical group Garibaldi, and also former husband of Patricia Manterola.  He's denied the rumors.

His latest film is Journey from The Fall several years ago where he played "Bully".

Most recently he gave a press conference to discuss the musical: "Adventurera"  with Carmen Salinas.

There Will Be No Plastic Surgery for Ms. Salma Hayek

La Senora Salma Hayek told WEB MD, “None of that.  No peelings or tanning booths.  What you see is what you get.  I have been lucky.  Maybe when the face starts falling apart, I’ll change my mind, but for now I am fine.”

She says in many cases she thinks that people who get plastic surgery age faster.  And she just doesn’t have the time for that.  Her statements do make a little sense...perhaps.  She says, after a while there won’t be any more skin to tuck with tons of plastic surgery. 

Salma shares her thoughts and philosophy on aging with Penelope Cruz.  Cruz also says she's not for plastic surgery.  So good!  Now let's see what these ladies have to say in 15 years...

Will Adrienne Bailon Solo Career Mean The Big Time?

The magazine, “Rap-Up” has reported that Adrienne Bailon has managed to grab a recording contract as a solo act from Def Jam.  This is a wish come true for her since she left her Cheetah Girls contract with Disney in the dust.  But, is this a good shift for her? 

Some wonder if she'll really manage to set herself apart, especially when there are so many look alikes.  She's had a few small attentiion garnering occasions happen including a nude picture slip, which brought on some attention, as well as her connection with the Kardashian's.  But some say what Ms. Bailon really needs to do is get her acting hat on so people can distinguish her from any of the other cute girls wandering about L.A.

What's JLo's Name Worth?

Jeremiah Tieman of Arizona, has been making mucho moolah from domain names like Jenniferlopez.net and JenniferLopez.org.  He was the registrar of these names...but no longer owns them due to court order.  Normally, using a star's name for a domain won't cause this much trouble if domain owners use the sites in a respectable manner with relevant content. But Mr. Tierman has been ordered to turn them over as he was using the names to forward traffic to other revenue generating sites.  Also, Jennifer trademarked her name in 1999  So, J.Lo sued Mr. Jeremiah Tieman for false representation.  Now, he has been ordered to turn over the domains back to her.

Is Enrique Iglesias Engaged?

If this is true, I will eat my pants...(well not really but, dude!)  Recently superstar Enrique Iglesias was seen with his on again off again lady Anna Kournikova and these two might be actually going for a luv match.  Both of them were in the spot light at the Crandon Park Tennis Center while watching the two tennis champs Serena Williams and her sister Venus play.

Although Serena was winning the match, all the attention was focused onto Iglesias and Kournikova wearing a big diamond ring.  They both spent the night together kissing and hugging. Game...set...MATCH.  This'll be interesting cause I know people who've seen Iglesias sing live, and he makes no secret of liking all types of ladies at this concert.  Kournikova is an understanding woman.

Dancing Champion Hélio Castroneves Dances in Court

El bailon, Helio Castroneves is in the news for a court date because he has not filed his taxes. O, Helio...no tax...no dance... Jury selection has already begun in Miami.  Mr. Castroneves is a Dancing With the Stars champ and is going to court for not filing taxes worth over $5.5 million from in offshore accounts from 1999 to 2004.  The 33 year old Brazilian star has claimed innocente...  but his request to dismiss charges has been denied. So, if found guilty he faces a maximum sentence of serving (dancing) behind bars of 30 years.  You know he'll never serve any time.  Somehow all will work out and we'll see Castroneves dancing el Tango, with yet another gorgeous woman soon.
