mailbox9/29/07- So direct mail marketing, yawn…it’s been around forever it seems, get with internet advertising everybody is saying.

Well, with Hispanics, it may be worth taking another look at direct mail marketing.

According to Furniture World Magazine: “Hispanics get 1 piece of direct mail for every 10 received by a typical American home.  When a direct mail piece arrives by itself, don’t you think it has a better chance of being read?”

Advertising and Marketing Review says many Hispanics, especially immigrants “welcome it [direct mail] as a means of becoming a more informed consumer.” Hispanic households are 3.5 times more likely the Review continues, to respond to direct mail than a non-Hispanic household.

Pretty impressive stats huh?

Sounds like it could be worth a try.  Just remember, create the direct mail in English and Spanish.

Right now estimates show 60% of direct mail sent to homes is in English.  Keep it bilingual, and you may just yet win yourself some customers, and capture some of what is estimated to be a $1 trillion market in 2010.
