5/25/08- Men....whew....

I went out for drinks with an old friend a couple ofKiss
days ago, and she was telling me that after a lot of
consideration, she decided to write her memoirs as a
frustrated, single woman.  I was in shock with that

sentence alone!

She is a successful woman, dedicated to her
work, with a great personality.  No, she is not ugly!
She is actually attractive.  You would think she is
perfect.  I thought her life was perfect.  But after 3
very bad experiences with men that just took advantage
of her, she is not interested in a steady relationship
anymore.

Dating is getting harder for her because
maybe her expectations are too high.  Then she said
something that shook me and made me laugh out loud: “
Sally, I decided that from now on, I will only date
Latinos.  They are hot and sexy, exotic, and they know
how to move!”

I asked her if she thought that dating onlyKissing
Latino/Hispanics would change her mind about writing
her frustrated memoirs.  She didn’t think of that, but
of the possibility of enjoying the good times with hot
dates.

This was not the first time I heard that Latinos are
hot.  The fame of being passionate lovers is something
that Latinos or Hispanics have to their advantage.  On
the other hand, that passion also translates into
being very jealous.

We can see those hot men, with incredible eyes, an
accent that becomes sexy even when they are offering a
long distance carrier, and right away we can imagine
them being very macho, possessive, setting up rules
because they don’t like anyone else to even look at
their women.

I explained to my friend that for independent women
like her, men that are so passionate and possessive
might become a problem on the long run.
“That’s what I want!” she said. “I want a man that
wants me, that doesn’t want to share me with anyone, I
want a man that thinks of me as a princess he needs to
rescue and love forever!”  “That’s not real, that’s a fairy

tale” I told her.

Deep down, this strong woman wanted to be a fragile
damsel and live the fantasy of her childhood. I was
still in shock and disbelieve.  Maybe in the fairy
tales I was the wicked witch.  A couple of strawberry
Margaritas later, we were talking about finances and
ideas for a business, a guy went by and she said:
Latinos are hot!
