More Hispanic Democrats Than Republicans in Florida?

5/6/08- Mas Hispano Democrats than Republicans in Florida, for the first time in over 30 years...It's set to happen this month as the Secretary of State of Florida is set to release it's latest voter registration figures for the state in the upcoming few days.  

More Hispanic Democrats bodes extraoridinarily well for Hillary and Obama, and shows the increasing bloodletting from the Republican party as Hispanics stream over to the Democratic side. 

Why are Hispanics ditching the Republican party?

A few thoughts

1) Youth- Hispanics are a very young population, and many of the new registering (young) Hispanic voters have new ideas and thoughts that are more progressive than their more traditionally conservative (Republican) parents.

2) McCain- Combined with the youth, there is a huge generational divide between young Hispanic voters and McCain.  It's wide, it's alot - how can McCain solve this?  Here's a thought- remember George W.?  He trotted out his (at the time -23 year old) Hispano nephew...George P. Bush.  McCain...do you have any hispanos in the family...young, good looking like George P.? 

3) Immigration-  Okay, this goes without saying.  Hardlined Republican stance towards immigration ain't winnin' no friends among Hispanos.  Yeah really...I know you're shocked...

4) Recession no one wants to talk about-  Hispanics are having tough times... some are leaving the country, being foreclosed upon...etc.  Many hispanos I know want a change from what they see as a party that's put them there.
