    Avocado sandwich

I was in Mexico awhile back and some of my friends there made the best avocado sandwiches.  I know they put something in there to make if hot and the avocado helped make it not too hot.  :)

Ah, don't get me started on avocados and how much I love them! The cafe in my store makes a wonderful avocado melt with jalapeno flavored rice cheese, wheat bread, and lettuce. Oh I know what I am going to order tomorrow!

Wow, you have a store?  That is amazing.  And jalapeno flavored rice cheese?

That certainly sounds out there.  I'm sure it's good tho :)

My aunt likes stuff like that, she is always drinking that soy milk and bio something bread, grown where the gardeners talk to the plants.  It's different I guess.

I have 4 avocados in my fridge right now.  YUMMMy.  I'm thinking at some point soon I need to make Brazilian Vitamina.  I loved that when I lived in Brazil.  It was SOOO good.

An avocado milk shake.  Some people may think it sounds gross, but it was SOOOOoo good.

I still haven't one in so long...been craving it but I want to make my own with fresh avocados and real cheese ;)

Rice cheese sounds bizarre, I know...but where I work is a natural foods store and the cafe is vegetarian and vegan etc...

    Re: Avacado sandwich

The last avocados I bought, I made them into a Guacamole, with lots of garlic... hmmmm!!! But the problem is that I had garlic breath for 3 days! So I have to control that.  I've had a chicken sandwich with avocado that is to die for! But I've never had avocado with chile sandwich... I guess it is like a guacamole sandwich.

    Re: Avacado sandwich

My coworker made his excellent guacamole yesterday, and I could just kick myself for not having any!

Anyone who doesn't like avocados is missing out!

As much as I love avocados, it is hard to imagine an avocado milk shake!  I'm curious, I might just try it.

    Re: Avacado sandwich

I think it just seems gross because you associate eating it as a dip or with salty foods.  But if you think about it, the avocado has a kind of neutral taste and a creamy texture, so why not?

    Re: Avacado sandwich

Well, do you just drink it like that or mix it with something?

I could see it being similar to cream cheese in a cheesecake, or ricotta in a canoli. You don't realize they're just great for making things creamier!

    Re: Avacado sandwich

In Brasil they eat avocados with sugar! For me it has to be salty... but I guess that if you eat it with sugar, then the milkshake is not such a bad idea!

I don't know why I forgot to mention this, I guess because I just remembered!

The store I work at has a cafe that makes vegetarian/vegan/raw foods... they also make desserts. I just remembered that one of the main ingredients of their key lime pie is avocado! I guess because it makes the green color. You really can't even taste it!

I also forgot to mention that the other day I finally had another avocado sandwich...so good! It had pepperjack cheese, yellow and red bell peppers and a mixture of what I believe was ketchup and mayo.
