You are right. The hardest part is to start. But once you start, is easy to keep going, specially if what you are doing is more of a passion for you.  I would never be able to keep a blog about making money on live, for example... first, there are so many, it would be too much competition.  And second, I am sure I would be bored right away.

I guess with the cost of gas and everything else these days, I can't afford to turn down a few pennies.  Ok, so how do I get started?

Like Ammulu here I’m just earning a few cents from Adsense. As of now it is the only one that is making money for me on my blog. I’m not rushing things because my blog is just one month and I do know that it would take some time to get some good statistic. When I achieve this, then I’m ready to sell some ads space and those paid reviews.

I guess to even get a few pennies while your blog is still new is a good sign.  At least it shows that some people are looking at it.

Content seems to be the key, right? If you can come up with that magic idea you can really succeed! My husband got interested in a blog a few years ago called Waiter's Rant. I think he saw it mentioned online and went to just check it out and stayed because it was funny and interesting. This guy would come home from waiting tables at this swank place in NYC, and then came home and blew off steam about the jerks he'd have to put up with that night. The site got a real following from other wait staff and restaurant workers. He sold his site for some crazy amount of money and he is writing a book now, I believe. There's an example of magic content!

Right now, I’m thinking of having a blog with the sole purpose of selling those affiliate programs. I mean that I’m going to make a blog instead of website because they are more easily indexed by search engines’ spiders.

the thing that really put me off signing up for Adsense was the minimum payout. I figured that it would take so long to reach it that I'd be old and grey!

Re: Anybody blogging as a business?

Since Adsense is the only one that I’m earning from, right now, I’m thinking of changing my theme to that of Adsense ready theme so that I could earn easily with Adsense. I have head of many sites who are earning more because of this.

This is very true... we actually signed up for it before I knew what the payout was.  After a while I didn't even bother looking at the balance anymore and at this point I have no idea how much we have in there.

My Adsense account now shows $16, it made me feel like I'm slowly improving an the traffic is good but not that much. Hope I improve soon but long time to go I guess. I feel it is better to check out some other sites too rather than just Adsense.

I checked out some other sites like Chitika, Widget etc... which are also on the same track as Adsense. Hope someday I tend to make good money from home through these ads. I'm not sure how could some people get so much of money from Google Adsense.

Congrats on your account stats.  Mine is slower, my account has only $5.  I’m thinking of trying textlinkads and those paid to blogs site next month once I got my page rank updated.

I don't know how to make it popular! I wish I knew... but I guess a lot has to do with content.  If you have good content, and not just stuff on "how to make money on the internet for free" then maybe people would visit often.  I also think you need to market the blog with the people you want.

Yes, I think this is right, too.  I know that the blogs I keep going back to are those that tell a story and allow me into someone else's life. If I want to know how to make money on the net, I generally look that up separately.

Re: Anybody blogging as a business?

Right now I’m getting a lot o sponsor for each of my blog post. I just hope that they will keep on coming. Sponsored review and some banner advertisement are the only ones that have earned me quite a bit on my blog.
