Dr. Vazquez is from Mexico, born in Puebla, Puebla.  His parents came to the U.S to pursue the "American Dream." Dr. Vazquez arrived in Newburgh,NY at the age of 8 and went through a Bilingual Spanish/English education program eventually transitioning to the "regular" English program.  He graduated Weill Cornell Medical College in 2006.  While there Vazquez served as student body presidentDr. Vazquez and class president.  He was also deeply involved in community service, working at homeless shelters. 

Rafael's passion for weights began as a child when his brother rented the movie "Pumping Iron" staring Arnold Schwarzenegger. Vazquez competed in his 1st natural bodybuilding show in his 3rd year of medical school.  He turned Dr. Vazquezprofessional his 4th year medical school.  Shortly thereafter, he "matched" at Harvard's Massachusetts General Hospital Anesthesiology program; the top anesthesiology training program in the country.

 

Vazquez resides in Boston and is in his 2nd year of residency (total of 4 years).  He still competes as a professional natural bodybuilder and working toward a modeling career.  Vazquez was named Lift for Life’s Model of the Month in Oct. 2007.

Jay J Johnston-Castro heads up Free The Children of Hutto Prison and speaks about the T. Don Hutto Prison in Taylor, Texas where children of illegal immigrants are being detained behind bars along with their parents.    

 

Mr. Johnson-Castro was born in Portland, Oregon in 1946.  Mr. Johnson-Castro has most recently become recognized internationally as a human rights activist for his hundreds of miles of protest walks against the border wall and the “for profit” prison camps of thousands of immigrant refugees, especially T. Don Hutto prison camp where hundreds of children are imprisoned for profit.  He is a columnist for the Rio Grande Guardian, “Inside the Checkpoints” and writing a book with the same title. 
Johnson-Castro has served as an officer and/or director on numerous local, state, national and international organizations, boards and committees.  Tourism Advisory Committee, Officer of the Governor, Texas Historical Foundation, Texas Hotel & Lodging Assn., Los Caminos del Rio, Val Verde County Historical Commission, judge for Miss Latina US to name a few.
Johnson-Castro resides in Del Rio, Texas and runs the historic Villa Del Rio, Bed & Breakfast.

Jose Lopez ArtLowrider Tattoo’s Jose Lopez is a star in that tattoo/Latino art scene.  His “Lowrider Tattoo’s” were just featured as a cover story on Tattoo Magazine in November 2007, on LowriderArte.com, and he's won numerous accolades worldwide for his studio’s work: Lowrider Art.  Lopez founded and runs an annual Latino art gallery exposition showcasing lowrider style Latino art focusing on Hispanos living in the U.S.  He’s also soon launching a clothing line called LRW.
