Hispanic Business
Hispanic businesses are springing up throughout the United States. According to the U.S. Census, the growth rate of Hispanic business creation stood at 31% ('97-'02). The growth rate for general population business stood at 10% for the same years. There are currently 29,184 Hispanic owned businesses in the United States with receipts of over $1 million a year annually.
In 2007 1 out of every 10 new small businesses was Hispanic owned according to Hispanic Trends.
By 2010, it is estimated there will be over 3.2 million Hispanic firms, which will be generating over $465 billion a year according to the Small Business Administration.
According to the Center for Business Women's Research 2004, approximately 35% of Hispanic businesses are Latina owned. Latina owned firms are estimated to generate over $44.4 billion a year.
